Air radiation levels on the campus of Takasaki City University of Economics

Takasaki City University of Economics measured air radiation levels on the campus under the following conditions. Since this was our first measurement, we measured the radiation levels mainly at spots where students and personnel frequently pass or gather.

Conditions of measurement

  1. Time and date of measurement: 6:00-7:00 p.m. on November 2, 2011
  2. Number of measurement points: 17
  3. Measurement instrument: Manufacturer: HORIBA, Device: PA-1000Radi
  4. Measurement method: Measuring air radiation levels on the ground
  5. Results of measurement:
      Dose Location
    Maximum value 0.121μSv The lawn to the east of Building 1
    Minimum Value 0.070μSv On a bench located on the east side of the courtyard in front of the library

    The values at the other 15 points, including points on a gutter grating on the east side of the athletic grounds and at the entrance of Building 1, ranged between the maximum and minimum values above.
