Program Contents
Participants can experience various aspects of American culture as well as acquire practical English skills that will be useful in the real world. The curriculum of this program has been arranged especially for TCUE students. Students study, not only in classrooms, but also have a chance to go on field trips to visit different companies and see first-hand, actual venues of business operation. Participants in this program live in the same dormitory as UTM students. Attending parties, watching baseball games the nightlife in Memphis and Nashville, as well as other scheduled recreational programs provide participants with a truly satisfying program from all aspects. Upon return to Japan, there is an application period for participants to receive 2 earned credits of English language depending on their grades at UTM.

Period

3 weeks during summer vacation from the end of August to mid-September

Costs

The amount actually born by participants in the 2012 program was about 400,000 yen. , Excluding spending money, this amount included almost all costs necessary for the program, including airfare, tuition, food expenses and room and board. Participants will receive a subsidy for the amount of half of tuition and round trip airfare, up to 200,000 yen from TCUE and 30,000 yen of grant-in-aid from a combination of the Supporters' Association and the alumni association.

Application

Program Contents
Students from TCUE studies focus on a five-week English program at the Language Center at LTU's main campus in Bundoora. In the beginning, a placement test is administered to determine the students' level of English skill, and they are placed in a class accordingly where they will study with other students from various countries. Students will take excursions to visit various spots in Australia on some weekends. There are generally no classes on Saturdays and Sundays and students are free to use their time off as they please on weekends and after classes. Students live in a home-stay with a local family for 5 weeks. Upon return to Japan, there is an application period for participants to receive 2 earned credits of English language depending on their grades at LTU.

Period

Five weeks during spring vacation next year from the middle of February to the end of March.

Costs

The amount actually born by participants in the 2012 program was about 500,000 yen. Excluding spending money, this amount included almost all costs necessary for the program, including airfare, tuition and home-stay fees. Participants will receive a subsidy for the amount of half of tuition and round trip airfare up to 200,000 yen from TCUE and 30,000 yen of grant-in-aid from a combination of the Supporters' Association and the alumni association.

Program Contents
A short-term Chinese language program is conducted at the campus near the center of Beijing City for two weeks from the end of August to the beginning of September. In addition to beginning Chinese language lessons and classes to experience Chinese culture, a study tour is offered. Participants visit the Gate of Heavenly Peace, the Great Wall of China and other scenic and historic spots located in Beijing and its suburbs. There are also events for social exchange with Chinese students studying Japanese at the university. Participants in this program stay at an accommodation facility on the campus. Upon return to Japan, there is an application period for participants to receive 1 earned credit of Chinese language depending on their grades at CUFE.

Period

Participants will receive a subsidy for the amount of half of tuition and round trip airfare up to 200,000 yen from TCUE and 30,000 yen of grant-in-aid from a combination of the Supporters' Association and the alumni association.
